How do all the systems work together to help us stay alive? Make sure to include ALL the body Systems we have talked about...
We breathe in oxygen using our Respiratory System where it gets filtered and then enters the blood stream. Then, via the circulatory system, our blood is oxygenated and brought around our body to help oxygenate our muscles and our heart. The muscular system needs oxygen to function so that we can move our body. Our body also needs energy to move, which we get through the Digestive System. The Digestive System helps to break down food into usable nutrients that is turned into energy and integrated into our bloodstream. Without our bones though, our muscles and body would have no structure or protection. Our Nervous System sends signals down our Spinal Chord so that our muscles know what to do.
