Procedure: An Experiment was conducted with a random allocation of participants (84 female psych students) into either high/low empathy conditions and easy/difficult escape conditions
Then, they listened to Carol's interview and were tasked to fill a questionnaire. Then they were asked whether if they'd help Carol or not.

Results: High Empathy condition showed high rates of helping regardless of the escape condition. Participants in the Low Empathy helped less in comparison, with the easy escape situation being the least likely.
