Rather than just dressing them up as a coal miners, Cinna connects coal to fire as we burn coal. Cinna depicts Peeta and Katniss as on fire.
What is a tesserae?
A person can take out tesserae during the reaping. The person receives a year's supply of grain and oil for a person but has increased chances of being pulled at the reaping.
What led to the creation of the Hunger Games?
74 years ago, the districts unsuccessfully rebelled against the capitol. The Hunger Games was created as a yearly reminder of the Capitol's strength and how they should never rebel again.
What gift does Madge give her before she leaves? How is it a symbol in the story?
She gives her a mockingjay pin. The mockingjay is a smack in the face to the Capitol. It symbolizes resistance against oppression.

It presents them as united. Also, as star crossed lovers torn apart.
