What is Generate Ideas
A mate constraint in Inventor that allows a cylindrical surface of 1 part to move along the surface of another and contiguous surfaces.
What is a Transitional Constraint
The average or central value of a set of quantities.
What is the Mean
1. The sum of all the areas of all the faces or surfaces that enclose a solid. 2. The sum of all the areas of all surfaces of a solid.
What is Surface Area
Colors have an effect on the perception of products. Red clothing, for example can have this effect on the perception of the person wearing it.
What is Appearing Shorter
An improvement of an existing technological product, system, or method of doing something.
What is Innovation
The representation of light and shade on a sketch or map.
What is shading
A model or replica of a machine or structure for instructional or experimental purposes. Also referred to as an Appearance Model.
What is a Mock Up
A force that resists movement between 2 contacting surfaces.
What is Friction
An orthographic view of an object using a direction of sight other than one of the six basic views (front, top, right-side, rear, bottom, left-side); used to show a surface that is not parallel to any of the principal view planes.

Stages a product goes through from concept and use to eventual withdrawal from the market place.

The total permissible variation in a size or location dimension.
What is a Tolerance
A type of system that: 1. does not feed result information back into system for improvement purposes. 2. allows resources to pass through it's barrier.
What is an Open System
A tool for systematically ranking alternatives according to a set of criteria.
What is a Decision Matrix
Views of an object projected onto two or more orthographic planes.
What is a Multiview Drawing
Referring to the middle term or mean of the middle two terms of a series of values arranged in order of magnitude.
What is the Median
The variables by which an object can move. In assemblies, an object floating free in space with no constraints to another object can be moved along three axes of translation and around three axes of rotation. Such a body is said to have six degrees of freedom.
What is a Degree of Freedom
A manufacturing process that joins material layer by layer, to create an object from 3D model data.
What is Additive Manufacturing
The process of taking something apart and analyzing its working in detail, usually with the intention to understand function, prepare documentation, electronic data, or construct a new or improved device or program, without actually copying from the original.
What is Reverse Engineering
A line type that represents an edge that is not directly visible, because it is behind or beneath another surface
What is a Hidden Line
A method of representing three dimensional objects on a plane having only length and width. Also referred to as a Right Angle Projection.
What is an Orthographic Projection
A design process that utilizes AI to create a number of design alternatives based on criteria, constraints, and other inputs dictated by the designer.
