Physical factors as cold or exercise may initiate anaphylaxis using a ____________ mechanism of activation.
Non-Immunologic
Congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, and pruritus of the nose, eyes, oral mucosa, or face and watering and redness of the eyes. Sneezing often marked by explosive paroxysms of 5 to 10 sneezes or more. Headache, a feeling of facial fullness, reduction in or loss of sense of smell, cough, and halitosis and anosmia.
Allergic rhinitis
A 57-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for replacement of an implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD). After 24 hr of successful reimplantation localized erythema was limited within the border of the generator and pruritis occured at the side of the generator pocket. She underwent patch testing that showed reaction to the various components of the pacemaker such as nickel, chromium, and titanium.
Allergic contact dermatitis
This is a hypersensitivity reaction. Potentially life-threatening, systemic & allergic reaction.
Anaphylaxis

Serum Sickness
Mechanism starting the Immunologic (IgE independent) Anaphylaxis
Ag-Ab complexes (indirect complement activation)
