Why is there evil in the world?

God gave us free will. He created us to be in a relationship with Him, but He wanted us to genuinely choose it. Love, if it’s genuine, must be freely chosen.
Now, when God gave us free will to make our own choices, a lot of times we end up making very bad, very corrupt, very evil choices. We often don’t choose the way of love and goodness, but we choose to be selfish and mean. We choose evil choices.
