What is Independent Living Program?
This is when youth are eligible for ILP services
What is:
-Youth between the ages of 14-17
-Youth was or is in care at least 6 months prior to turning 18 (over the course of their life)
-Youth 18-21 is a citizen or a permanent legal resident of the United States and a legal resident of Georgia
-Youth age 18-21 no longer in care who have declined EYSS/signed out of care at or post 18 (refer to ILS)
The age when a WTLP is included as part of a case plan

TRT meeting links/invites are sent to these people (CM and youth are required to attend with ILS)
Who is:
The Youth
Youth's placement (unless the youth says "no")
Any supports for the children (family, CASA, therapist, close friends, siblings, etc.)
SSS
RAC (If TPR has occurred)
EPAC coordinator (If youth has IEP, is pursuing their GED, or is failing courses)

This is a matched savings account available for youth 16-21, they must complete 8 virtual sessions/keys covering financial literacy to be eligible (Prior to utilizing funds, youth must also submit an Asset Purchase Intent Form to ILS for approval)
What is IDA (Individual Development Accounts)?
Needed PRIOR to utilizing any ILP funds for youth age 14+
What is ILS approval from Lyly Guzman?
Youth entering care without US documentation must have this completed and approved prior to turning 18 to receive ILP benefits
What is the Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) application? (this needs to be completed immediately for youth age 14+ entering care without legal documentation)
Used to develop, update, and implement the WTLP
What is a meeting and input from the child and identified supports? (FTM, TRT, ECEM)
The case consultation occurring every 6 months for youth 16+ (sometimes 14+ but most appropriate for 16+)
What is Transition Roundtable (TRT)?
Completed within 30 days of youth 14+ entering care OR turning 14 and ongoing annually until age 18 to find inaccuracies or discrepancies in credit
What are Credit Reports?
The place to schedule TRTs, compliance meetings, Scattered Site Assessments, etc. with ILS
This must be completed within 15 days of determining a youth is eligible for ILP services
What is CM will notify ILS Lyly and SSS will assign Lyly as secondary worker in SHINES?
Assessment tool to assist in completion of WTLP and assess skills, strengths, and vulnerabilities
What is the Casey Life Skills Assessment?
Youth can sign-out of care, and choose to return/sign back in within this time frame (after this period, becomes subject to DFCS approval)
What is within 6 months of exiting care?
The time period to obtain a state ID for:
Youth 14-17 entering care
Youth in care turning 14
Young adult in extended foster care (EFC) signing a Voluntary Placement Agreement (VPA)
