What experiences did African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, women, and conscientious objectors have while serving in Europe?
African Americans served in segragated units and were often discriminated against. Hispanics were relegated to menial tasks such as cleaning the latrine and digging out the trenches. After all the men left, Women took positions in factories; but more importantly, it was the first time that women served in the armed forces. Conscientious Objectors often faced long prison sentences or even put to death.
