Explain either the Sherman Anti-Trust Laws or the Meat Inspection/Food and Drug Act of 1906

Anti-Trust Laws: The Sherman Antitrust Act was passed in 1890, and it outlawed trusts.

➔ A trust is a combination of firms formed by a legal agreement.

➔ The next laws passed were the Clayton Act of 1914 and the Federal Trade Commission Act of 1914.

➔ Both were antitrust laws aimed at eliminating monopolies and allowing for equal competition among competitors.

Meat Packing/Food and Drug: Upton Sinclair wrote The Jungle: which highlighted disgusting working conditions and unsanitary processes used in cutting/packing meat.
