What is using hand sanitizer for hand hygiene?
It reduces the risk of transmission of infectious pathogens by treating all patients as if infectious, regardless of known or suspected status

I am used to prevent contact with respiratory secretions.
What is masks and/or eye protection?
It is used to prevent transmission of microorganism from airborne nuclei (less than or equal to 5 microns), such as TB or chickenpox
What is airborne isolation?
This is a cylindrical disk used to provide 360 degree coverage to help fight bacteria and prevention infection in a central line
What is a biopatch?
It is used to cleaned the all hard surfaces and equipment after treatment of a patient with suspected or confirmed C. diff, C. auris, and CRE/CROs.
What is bleach wipes?
Soap and water is only hand hygiene that can be done following this exposure
I am must be fit-tested to be used correctly
What is a N-95 mask/respirator?
I always require enhanced contact when infection is confirmed
What is Clostridioides difficle (C. diff)?
This is treatment used to help prevent HAIs and transmission of MDROs by reducing bacteria on the skin/organism burden on skin for 24 hrs
What is chlorhexidine (CHG) bathing?
Only inserting central lines and urinary catheters when necessary are processes used to limit this.
What are catheter-associated infections?
Gloves, gowns, facial protection, and respirator are good examples of these.
What is personal protective equipment (PPE)?
I refer to the practice of not recapping/ reusing needles
What is use of a sharps container or sharps management?
It is used as a combination isolation type for COVID-19
What is Airborne/Contact/ Droplet Precautions?
Requirement of all patients admitted from a high risk nursing home or readmitted contacts with potential exposure to Candida auris (C. auris)
