How can I make sure I stay organized when I am talking about two different passages in one answer?
To stay organized, you need to state the names of the articles when stating your answer. Do NOT say, "That passage talks about _____ and the other passage says _______."
Instead actually give me the name of the passage such as, "The New York Times passage talks about_______. However, The Evening Bulletin passage says, ________.
"All the commotion woke me up."
What does commotion mean?
uproar, noisy loud disturbances

Write a RAP response to this task:
You read two accounts on the titanic, The New York Times account, and The Evening Bulletin account. Identify which account is firsthand and secondhand, then compare and contrast how the events are described in these two different accounts. Support your answer using two details from the text.
The New York Times account was a secondhand account about the titanic, because it was written by someone who learned about the tragic event, rather than actually witnessing it.
However, The Evening Bulletin account was a firsthand account because Titanic survivor John B actually wrote it. They are both similiar because the topic covers the Titanic, however New York Times states more facts where The Evening Bulletin focuses on the timeline of the events unfolding. I know this because in the text if you look at the bolded headings of each subsection it says, _______________, then ______________, then _____________. Also, another detail is ____________________. This proves how the accounts are similiar and different.
What are the 5 text structures? Describe each one.
Cause/Effect- explains what happens and why
Problem/Solution- explains a problem and ways to solve and or help the problem
Compare/Contrast- Gives similarities and differences between two things
Sequence/Chronological - Puts events in order like a timeline
Description - Focuses on one idea and describes it in many ways
Which one is the firsthand account? secondhand account? Use details to prove your answer.
A. THE WONDER SHIP
On April 10, 1912, hundreds of people crowded onto a dock in England. They came to see the Titanic set off on her maiden voyage. What made the ship so exceptional?
First of all, the Titanic’s massive size made her the largest ship in the world. She was as long as four city blocks. Many people called her “the wonder ship.” Others said Titanic was the greatest ship ever built and many believed she was too sturdy to sink!
B. April 14, 1912
I was asleep when the commotion started. My family quickly got dressed and ran to the mop deck. No one knows what is happening. Someone just heard one of the crew members talk about an iceberg. Some people are getting off the ship into lifeboats. I am terrified!
The firsthand account is Passage B. I know this because it appears to be a diary entry with the date, and uses first person point of view, expressing "I was asleep when the commotion started." This proves the author was a witness to this event on April 14, 1912.
The secondhand account is Passage A The Wonder Ship. I know this because the text was written by an outsider who did not witness the event. They are stating facts of the Titanic based on what others have said, "Many people called her the wonder ship. Other said Titanic was the greatest ship ever built...".
