~5-10 mins - kids don’t always remember both you and the level they’re in so it minimizes confusion if you and the level sign are together.

Never. Not even to grab equipment. Bring them along :)

What should you do if it is RN/R day and a Child has attended your class less than 3 times?

Write No Show in the R/NR binder and make them a report card with a comment card that says “Did not attend enough classes to be properly evaluated”.

Flippers have been left out at the end of lessons!! Who should’ve put them away?

The instructor that used them - ideally get your kids to put their own fins away under your supervision.

What should you do if you have a child that does not show up for 2 lessons in a row?

Fill out the sheet inside the guard room door (Same applies for new kids).

What should you do if you know you can't be here for your lessons?

Find a sub!! make sure you are keeping the TL and bosses informed - they can help you with finding a sub but it is your responsibility!

When should you go line up for the slide?

When the TL opens it. Don't wait until the line is as big as possible to waste time.

What is the first thing you should do once your last lesson has finished?

Clean the pool deck! - It’s a team effort, put away everything and anything until it’s all clean:)

Name 3 things you can do throughout your lesson for a child who refuses to get in the water.

Continually check in on them, ask them to do small tasks (sit on the edge, blow bubbles, splash the water etc.), give them a toy, explain the games/drills to them so they are familiar with them for next time, move your class to them (do not move them to the class), *popcorn is often very effective at coaxing kids into the water.
