How does filing dual insurance work?
The Primary will be filed first and once that information comes back, we will file the secondary.
Does the patient have to pay in full if the claim is required to go to Medical Ins first?
No. The estimate that is given to the patient will have write offs on it if we are in network with the dental insurance.
Do we participate with Medicare at Nu Image?
No,We have opted out of the Medicare Network
What Insurance is filed for a Biopsy Procedure?
Will Nu Image estimate coverage on a patient's tx plan if they are OON?
If the patient has OON coverage available, yes, we will estimate these benefits on their Tx Plan
If a patient has dual insurance, what do we base their estimate off of?
The estimate for treatment is based off of the patient's Primary Insurance
What do we need from the patient in order to file Medical Insurance?
The front and back on the Medical ins Card
Explain the Medicare Opt out Form
Nu Image has opted out of accepting Medicare, therefore we are unable to file a claim to Medicare. We are obligated to let you know that neither we nor the patient are able to file a claim because we have opted out. By signing the waiver form, the patient understands this.
Does a patient have to pay in full upfront for a Biopsy Procedure?
Yes, we ask for payment upfront as a biopsy is a medical procedure and not all insurances cover biopsies.
If we are Out Of Network with a patients Insurance, does the insurance pay Nu Image or the patient?
The Insurance company will pay Nu Image directly
If a patient has both Medicare Insurance and has a Secondary Insurance, Will Nu Image file with the Secondary Insurance?
No, We will not file the Secondary. We cannot bypass the primary Ins.
Will Nu Image file Medical Insurance upon patient request?
Yes, We will file Medical Ins upon patient request as a courtesy.

United Healthcare Medicare
If Medical Insurance pays on a Biopsy, Who reimburses the patient?
The Medical Insurance Company will reimburse the patient directly.
If we are Out of Network with a patient's insurance, does the patient have to pay NuImage in full?
No, Nu Image will estimate OON coverage on the Tx plan and the patient will only pay us their portion owed.
If a patient has both a Primary Insurance plan & has Medicaid as a Secondary Insurance, Will Nu Image file Medicaid?
Yes, Nu Image will file with both insurances ONLY if Medicaid is secondary
Can Nu Image file Medical Insurance if they have Medicare?
No, we cannot file with a patient's medical insurance if they have Medicare

Yes, Nu Image will estimate coverage at the OON level with United Healthcare Medicare Dental Only
