Can I share my data with an external system?
Maybe - depends on there being an existing agreement with the external system or not.
We are not actively entering new data sharing agreements, however please forward any data sharing requests to the integrations team for review.
What data do I have to send to STR to make the most of bundle?
The depends on the product you're wanting to access. For bundle:
- Historical rooms
- Forward STAR
- Monthly P&L
Segmentation and Additional revenue are optional add-ons (that we of course want too :) )
I am sending you my History & Forecast report and my occupancy is lower than my Opera History & Forecast reports, why?
STR collects rooms sold excluding complimentary and house use rooms, which after deducted from your Opera data leads to a lower occupancy.
Do I have to automate my data delivery?
It is not mandatory, but it is encouraged if possible
Is the Integrations team the same team leading STR's integration with Costar?
No
Can I add this consultant into my distribution list?
Only if STR has a master agreement signed with the consutant and the property has signed the data share consent form
Can I transfer data via FTP, and what is it?
Yes you can - the integrations team can generate FTP credentials for the client to submit any type of data to our SFTP, but STR can also connect to the client's FTP to collect the data from them.
Think of FTP like OneDrive - you place files in folders and then you can share them to be accessed by others.

Can we send our adjusted supply?

Can I automate the data from my system?
Maybe - that depends on the system you use. The Wiki page helps you verify this information. If there is no automation, ask the property to put us in touch with the system.
Where are the automation setup instructions and can I share them with clients?
They are located in the wiki page and yes, you can share them with the client asking for them.

STR will not charge you or any client to automate the data, however some external systems may decide to charge the clients. Any information we have is stored on the wiki page.

The Data Operations wiki page contains all our data sharing agreements, as well as consultant agreements.
What is API documentation, and does STR have it?
It is the dictionary of the data available through your API

My hotel is closed but my reports show "submit data", why?
Our data loading system can only handle full month closures for methodology purposes. Therefore if a hotel is closed for example from the 23rd of October until the 31st of December, they will only access comp set/market data from the 1st of November onwards. The report will show "submit data" and "DND" from the 23rd to 31st of October.
The PMS is asking the hotel to pay to automate my data, what can I do?
Below some options:
- Ask the hotel if they use another system that could automate the data instead
- Capture the cost and let the integrations team know. We can get on a call with them to explain that the cost is going to impede our clients from automating data
- Be patient and persistent
What does market code mapping mean?
To automate the historical data we need clients to map their market codes under the right STR segment as well as help identify the codes used for complimentary and house use rooms so we can skip them when aggregating their data.
