This theory has to do with how people deal with adversities in their lives, the ways that people cope with negative situations, and what they are able to do to bounce back from potential trauma in their lives.
This theory may not be helpful if as the social worker, we do know our own stressors or how to cope and practice resiliency. It is important that as a social worker, we know our own stressors, and are able to cope with these stressors, in order to help our clients practice resiliency after a trauma.
