NO! Sunlight helps the plant MAKE its food!

BLOOM and grow!

NO
What do birds do as the seasons change and get colder?
They MIGRATE south to find warmer weather.
What do plants do in the winter?
They have no leaves to save energy- dormancy
What does a plant use the sunlight to do?
Photosynthesis- make food!
Some arctic animals have fur that changes as the weather gets colder. How might their fur change to help them survive the winter months?
It gets thicker or longer!
What happens to plants in the summer?
They grow and are ready for harvest

Some animals do this during the winter to save energy. They go into a deep sleep where they survive off of stored body fat.
