How was Indiana able to link herself to the rest of the world economically in the years after WW II?
New ports were built that allowed us to ship Indiana goods to the world. The Port of Indiana was built on Lake Michigan. It had access to the Atlantic Ocean through the St. Lawrence Seaway. Two other ports were built on the Ohio River, Southwind Maritime Center and Clark Maritime Center. They had access to the Gulf of Mexico through the Mississippi River.
