Oral Tradition
This is frequently used in oral tradition, but frowned upon in modern literature. The action of repeating something that has already been said or written.
What is repetition?
The Greeks, the Romans, and this culture as well developed in the Mediterranean. This name is also a book in the Bible.
What are Hebrews?
For early cultures, ______ did not necessarily provide a moral code of conduct, nor were divine characters meant to be understood as representative of "correct" moral behavior.
What is religion?
At the time of Greece's reemergence from its Dark Ages, the Persian Empire ruled a vast territory stretching from Asia Minor (eastern Greece/western Turkey on a modern map) all the way east into this country.

Rome conquered this country in 30 BCE. The country is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the North, the Gaza Strip to the East, the Red Sea to the East, Sudan to the South, and Libya to the West.

This was one of Socrates's most famous pupils. He is considered a foundational thinker in Western philosophy and an innovator of the written dialogue and dialectic forms.
Who is Plato?
These types of characters make reappearances in the oral tradition. For example, the Chosen One. As seen with Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, etc.
What are stock characters?
Athenian "democracy," as relatively progressive as it was, still included only a small percentage of "the people" in governance, and then only these citizens held any rights.
What is male?
It was not until the eighth century B.C.E. that the Greeks (re)developed a writing system, this time borrowed from this group of people (inspired the 22-character set representing consonant sounds).

This Empire, stretching from modern Britain to North Africa and into the Middle East, left an indelible cultural imprint.

Socrates was considered this, but not in a good way. It originally meant a wise teacher, but the term later became known for a person who reasons with clever but fallacious arguments.
During Greece's Dark Ages, oral literature grew in prominence once again (and from this tradition would come Homer's Iliad and this other famous story).

Women and these persons, often spoken of as having the same social status, were allowed no voice in politics, had no legal rights, and could not own property.

During the fifth century B.C.E. this culture produced its most important literary and cultural achievements.

This political system was modeled as a republic: a system wherein power is distributed among a number of different governing bodies, which included elected officials, upper-class Senators, and Assemblies of common citizens.
