A round edge on a part or face within a drawing.
Fillet
The final product of an Inventor file. Consists of assemblies and presentations. Ends with file extension .idw.
Inventor Drawing File
The area of the screen, usually on the left, which contains all features and sketches within a drawing.
Model Browser
Relationships that define the size and shape of features and control the relative positions of components within parts and assemblies.
Parameters
The process of importing a component part into an assembly.
Place
A tool that allows for rotating a drawing based on a rotation point.
Free Orbit
A set of metadata used to define an assembly or, in the case of parts, each part within an assembly. Can provide information such as mass, density, volume, and area of a part or assembly.
iProperties
A drawing that shows two or more 2D views of a 3D object derived from the object's orthographic projections.
Multiview Drawing
A base component for an Inventor file. Ends with file extension .ipt.
Part File
An exploded (spread-out) assembly which is then used as part of a drawing file. Ends in file extension .ipn.
Presentation File
A state of a part or component that removes all degrees of freedom in an assembly.
Grounded
A view that shows an object appearing as a three-dimensional object, typically shown in top, front, right-side orientation.
Isometric View
The distance between two constraints on two objects.
Offset
A list that shows the parts used in a drawing, the manufacturer and model of each part (where applicable), and the number of times the part is used in the drawing.
Parts List
A feature that allows outlines from a component cut by a section plane in an active sketch plane to be added to a sketch.
Project Cut Edges
A punch-out of a 3D model, often used to represent where a fastener will go within a part.
Hole
A tool used for reporting distances, angles, or area of a selected object.
Measure
A starting point for a sketch, which can be represented on the XY, XZ, or YZ axes of a drawing.
Origin Plane
A tool that allows for repeating a feature in a rectangular or circular fashion within a sketch.
Pattern
A method for organizing and accessing all files associated with a particular design job or project.
Project Files
A tool used to detect if components are colliding or interfering with one another.
Interference
A tool used to create copies of sketch geometry or features using a specified line or plane
Mirror
A 2D view of a 3D object.
Orthographic View/Orthographic Projection
A view that allows one to see a realistic representation of a final product.
Perspective View
A feature that allows for adding to a sketch using outlines from an existing sketch.
