Opioids
(2010’s) Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this American rapper lost their life at age 26 due to a “mixed drug toxicity” of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol. This artist briefly dated pop artist Ariana Grande.
Mac Miller
A young child forgets being bitten by a dog but develops a phobia of dogs as he gets older.
Repression
“I’m a loser”, “I’m completely useless”, and “They’re such an idiot” are all examples this cognitive distortion.
Labeling
“They tried to make me go to Rehab

These drugs can be used as aids in surgery, used to treat medical conditions while controlling various symptoms of anxiety and stress. Misuse and abuse of these however can be very dangerous.
Prescription drugs
(2000’s) This Australian actor died at age 28 due to a prescription drug overdose. They were well-known for their roles in movies such as The Dark Knight, Brokeback Mountain, and 10 Things I Hate About You.
Heath Ledger
Beth often accuses other women of talking too much and spreading rumors. It is rather obvious to those who know her that she is revealing her own inclinations in that area.
Projection
“I will fail and this will be unbearable”, “I know I will get fired soon”, and “I’ll be so upset that I won’t be able to concentration for the exam” are all examples of this type of cognitive distortion.
Fortune telling (catastrophizing)
“All of this drinkin' and smokin' is hopeless

Jelly Roll- Save Me
These drugs change the mind and cause the appearance of things that are not really there. They affect the body’s self-control, such as speech and movement, and often bring about hostility. Other negative side effects of these drugs include heart failure, increased heart rate, higher blood pressure and changes in the body’s hormones.
Hallucinogens
(1990’s) Known for their loud, energetic comedic style, this American comedian died of an accidental overdose of morphine and cocaine in 1997. They were a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1990-1995 and played a role in the 1995 film, Tommy Boy.

Available as prescription drugs to relieve stress and anger, although drowsiness is often a side effect. The “relaxation” felt from these drugs is not a healthy feeling for the body to experience, to stop abuse of this drug, drug treatment is suggested.
Depressants
(1980’s) The drummer for legendary rock band Led Zeppelin died of asphyxiation due to massive alcohol consumption in 1980 at age 32. Rolling Stone named this artist the “greatest drummer of all time” in 2016.

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors/SSRIs
(1970’s) A member of the infamous “27 Club”, this American singer and musician died of a heroin overdose on October 4th, 1970. One of the most widely known rock stars of their area, this artist also performed at Woodstock in 1969.
