What are Mondays?
To ensure effective communication, students should follow these four steps before emailing Dr. Saglam
1- Check the Syllabus, the Welcome Module, and eLC Announcements for an answer to your question.
2- Use your UGA email address and put the name of the course in the subject line or the body of your email.
3- Don't call your Professor "Hey, yo!"
4- Wait for 24-48 hours for a response during business days. If no response, make sure to send a reminder.
For Module Discussions, your original response must be at least this many words.

This is the absolute deadline to register for the Statecraft Simulation.
What is January 22nd at 9:00 am?
The total percentage of the final grade determined by Statecraft (including participation, performance, and the final essay).

On these days, the class focuses on applying concepts to historical and current case studies through mini-lectures and practical exercises.
What are Wednesdays?
This is the penalty if a student’s phone vibrates or is used during regular class time, and the "rule" for notifying the professor of rare technical issues at a deadline
What is a reduction in the participation grade and the 15-minute notification rule?
When responding to a classmate on the discussion board, your post must meet this minimum word count.
What is 150 words?
Weekly Statecraft Simulation memos are due by this time every week.
What is 9:00 am?
This behavior will significantly decrease your individual grade even if your country has the highest QOL score
What is free riding?
The course is organized into this many total modules, including the introductory one.
What is six modules?
While late submissions are not accepted without a legitimate and documented emergency, and assignments automatically lock, this policy serves as a safety net for unexpected situations, allowing a set number of drops for quizzes, discussions, and memos.
What is the Life Token policy?
This is the number of attempts allowed for each online module quiz, with only the highest score recorded.
What is two attempts?
The final in-person cumulative exam is scheduled for this date and time.

Weekly memos must be at least this long and include reflections on both state activity and IR theories.

To ensure you are prepared for in-class activities that complement rather than duplicate online content, the syllabus requires you to complete these two tasks before every class meeting

This 5% of your final grade is based on your country’s final Quality of Life (QOL) score, but you can earn up to 3% extra credit by securing these two types of awards
