12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.

1 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the estrangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

What happens to the enemy at the Lord's second coming?

10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

How do you know you are waiting for HIM?

9 ¶ And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

What examples can you think of when Jesus helped a single individual?

12 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.

Why line upon line?

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

10 Porque mandamiento sobre mandamiento, mandato tras mandato, línea sobre línea, línea sobre línea, un poquito allí, otro poquito allá;

"[The Lord] gives 'unto the faithful line upon line, precept upon precept.' He does this for a reason: 'I will try you and prove you herewith' (D&C 98:12). The Lord gives doctrine incrementally, testing his people and giving them more as they are willing and worthy to accept more. (Richard D. Draper, "The Remarkable Book of Moses," Ensign, Feb. 1997, 16)

Why is Jesus a sure foundation?

16 ¶ Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.

What is the Battle of Armageddon?

Joseph Fielding Smith: One thing we are given by these prophets definitely to understand is that the great last conflict before Christ shall come will end at the siege of Jerusalem. all nations should be joined in this alliance in one way or another (see Jeremiah 25:26; Joel 3:1; Zechariah 14:2; Revelation 16:14). (Doctrines of Salvation, 3:46–47.)

What are the three comings of the Lord in the last days?

Bruce R McConkie: There are three comings of the Lord:

Adam-ondi-Ahman
Jews (Battle of Armageddon)
World

400

What needs to happen before the battle of Armageddon?

1. The house of Israel will be gathered
2. The land of Israel will be rebuilt and re inhabited by the covenant people
3. Jerusalem will be reestablished as the capital city of the Israelites
4. Judah will become powerful in politics and warfare
5. A great combination of organizations serving satan will arise in the last days.

How will earth be like during the millennium?

Elder McConkie: During the millennial era,...mortality as such will continue. Children will be born, grow up, Mary, advance to old age, and pass through the equivalent of death. Crops will be planted, harvested, and eaten; industries will be expanded, cities built, and education fostered; men will continue to care for their own needs, handle their own affairs, and enjoy the full endowment of agency. Speaking a pure language (Zeph. 3:9), dwelling in peace, living without disease. (McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, 496-497)

400

What will the resurrected do during the Millennium?

Joseph Fielding Smith: All those who have died in Christ shall come forth from the dead, at His coming, and shall dwell upon the earth as Christ shall be upon the earth during the millennium. They shall not remain here all the time during the thousand years, but they will mingle with those who are still here in mortal life. These resurrected saints, and the Savior Himself, shall come to give instruction and guidance. (Doctrines of Salvation 3:59)

500

Will anyone be born during the millennium?

Elder McConkie: Billions of spirits will come to earth during the Millennium...They will grow up without sin unto salvation. The Lord gives each of us what we need. (The Millennial Messiah, 660)

500

Will missionary service continue in the millennium?

Elder McConkie: There will be many churches on earth when the Millennium begins. False worship will continue among those whose desires are good,. It follows that missionary work will continue into the Millennium until all who remain are converted. (The Millennial Messiah, 660) Joseph Fielding Smith: There will be millions of people, Catholics, Protestants, agnostics, Mohammedans, people of all classes, and of all beliefs, still permitted to remain upon the face of the earth, but they will be those who have lived clean lives, those who have been free from wickedness and corruption. (Doctrine of Salvation 1:86-87)

 Where will God's judgments begin?

John Taylor: The judgments will begin at the house of God (this is designed to cleanse the church). We have to pass through some of these things, but it will only be a very little compared with the terrible destruction, the misery, and suffering that will overtake the world who are doomed to suffer the wrath of God. (John Taylor, in Journal of Discourses, 21:100) Bruce R McConkie: It may be, for instance, that nothing except the power of faith and the authority of the priesthood can save individuals and congregations from the holocausts that surely shall be. (April 1979 General Conference) Elder Maxwell: the Lord has clearly indicated that His purifying and sifting judgment would begin first at the house of God and then proceed outward to the world. (See 1 Pet. 4:17; D&C 112:25.) ("Be of Good Cheer," Ensign, Nov. 1982, 68)

500

Who will gather to Missouri?

Bruce R. McConkie: The return to Jackson County will be by delegates, as it were. Those whose services are needed there will assemble as appointed. The rest of Israel will remain in their appointed places. Zion will be built up in many places. Jesus said that "the covenant which the Father hath made with the children of Israel" was one involving "their restoration to the lands of their inheritance" (3 Ne. 29:1)-not one land but many. Speaking of "all the house of Israel," Nephi prophesied, "they shall be gathered together to the lands of their inheritance" (1 Ne. 22:9-12) (The Millennial Messiah: The Second Coming of the Son of Man [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1982], 293-295)

500

When will mortals living at Christ's time be resurrected?

Joseph Fielding Smith: When Christ comes the Saints who are on the earth will be quickened and caught up to meet him. This does not mean that those who are living in mortality at that time will be changed and pass through the resurrection, for mortals must remain on the earth until after the thousand years are ended. A change, nevertheless, will come over all who remain on the earth; they will be quickened so that they will not be subject unto death until they are old. (The Way to Perfection, 298-299)
