Abu Salama.

  • Abu Salamah migrated first to Abyssinia with his wife Umm Salamah, and later to Medina.

  • When the persecution in Mecca grew severe, he decided to migrate to Yathrib (later Medina) even before the Second Pledge of al-ʿAqabah.

  • He set out alone, becoming the first Muslim to migrate to Medina before the Prophet ﷺ.

  • At Uhud, he was wounded badly. His injuries became infected, and though he initially survived, the wounds never healed properly.
