Who named him Muhammad?
Abdul Muttalib
The Quraysh, were shocked by such a strange name and asked: “O Abul Haaris! (This was the title of Abdul Muttalib) Why do you want to keep a name that was certainly not kept by your forefathers or any of your family members?” Abdul Muttalib replied: “I want to name him Muhammad (the praised one) because I want Allah Ta’ala in the sky to praise him and His creation on the earth to also praise him.”
Whilst Abdul Muttalib was thinking about the name Muhammad, Rasulullah's mother, saw a dream in which she was thinking about the name Muhammad, Rasulullah’s told that she is carrying the holiest of creation and the leader of all the nations. She was instructed to keep his name Muhammad.

To protect Moses, Allah inspired his mother to place him in a basket and set it adrift in the river. The basket was found by the wife of Pharaoh, who was moved by the sight of the child and decided to adopt him.
