A Hadith is the written down Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ transmitted from the Sahaba to those after them with a chain of narration back to the Prophet ﷺ.

What are the obligations of Wudhu? 

(1) Washing the face which includes rinsing the mouth (Madmadah) and inhaling

water in the nose (Istinshaaq). Its boundaries are from where the hair of the head begins up to the chin, lengthwise, and up to the extremities of the ears, widthwise; 

(2) Washing the hands up to (and including) the elbows; 

(3) Wiping the entire head, which includes the ears (with water): 

(4) Washing the feet up to (and including) the ankles;

 (5) Maintaining this sequential order; and

 (6) Muwaalaat. washes the areas necessary for

ablution one immediately after the other without interruption.

What is a major sin and name 4 major sins

A major sin is one that has a severe punishment that is mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah and for which a person will serve time in the Hellfire for if Allah decides to punish them for it. 

1. Shirk is the greatest major sin that takes a person out of Islam. 

2. Zina -  intercourse outside of marriage . 

3. Murder without a just cause.

What are the conditions of Salah? 

A condition is that which must be present before the prayer is performed in order for it to be acceptable.

There are 9 conditions of prayer. Mention at least 5.


The Nine Conditions of the Prayer:  

1. One must be Muslim

2. He must be sane and conscious

3. He must be of the age of maturity

4.Removal of ritual impurity- He must have wudhu and have taken ghusl if necessary

5. Removal of filth - There must be no impurities on his body, clothes or place of prayer

6. He must cover his 'awrah.

7. It must be the right time for the prayer he is performing

8. His entire body must be facing the Qiblah.

9. He must have the intention for the prayer in his heart

Name 3 Prophets and reasons why their people were destroyed and how .

The people of Prophet Nuh were destroyed with a flood for their shirk and disobedience. 


The people of Prophet Lut were deatroyed by Allah turning their city upside down (earthquake)and raining on them stones as baked clay for commiting homosexual acts. 


Prophet Hud, Salih, are other examples.

In Surah Fatiha, who are the people that "Allah is angry with and are astray" and for what reason ?

The Jews are the people who Allah is angry with and anyone like them who know the truth and don't act upon it .

The Christians are those who are astray and anyone like them who don't even know the truth in the first place and are ignorant.

What are the 5 conditions that must be met for a Hadith to be Sahih(authentic) ?

1. The Chain must be connected (no missing person up to the Prophet ﷺ. 

2. All the narrators must have integrity = good character and not major sinners or consistent upon minor sins. 

3. All the narrators must have strong precision in their memory or their books that they are narrating from. 

4. No hidden defects 

5. No opposition- The Hadith must not oppose another Sahih Hadith


If these conditions are met, it is a Sahih Hadith. If not, it is not considered Sahih

Why did the Muslims lose the battle of Uhud and what lesson do we learn from this ?

They lost the battle because they disobeyed the command of the Prophet ﷺ that the 50 archers on the mount should not leave the mount no matter what even if they see the birds eat the flesh of the Muslims. But the archers thought the battle was over and left to get the treasure of war and then Khalid ibn Walid and his soldiers came and attacked so the Muslims lost. 


The lesson we learn is victory comes with obeying Allah and His Messenger ﷺ and loss comez when you disobey Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.

What are the conditions needed for a valid Islamic marriage contract

-  The girl must have a wali that gives permission to the marriage (her guardian who is her mahram which is her father and if father is not alive then brother, the next in line ) . 

- The father must give permission by saying he gives his daughter in marriage and the daughter must accept. 

-  There must be 2 male witnesses .

IWhat is the meaning of this Hadith and what is it talking about ? And give some examples of the topic. 

 The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said 

He who innovates something in this matter of ours [Islam] that is not of it will have it rejected [by Allah].

[Bukhari & Muslim]

In one version by Muslim it reads:

He who does an act which we have not commanded, will have it rejected [by Allah].


The Prophet ﷺ is warning us against Bidah. Bidah is something that 

  • Resembles the shariah, from the shariah but done so in a manner not from the shariah, or at a time and way that is not the way Allah commanded it to be done or the way the Prophet (saw) did it. 

    • Actions from the shariah but done so in ways and manners that are not from the sunnah. Ex : Group dhikr,worship at specific times not appointed(like 15th of Shaban or Isra wal Miraj,etc)

Name the 3 categories of people mentioned in Surah Waqiyah. 

The people of the right - Those who do good deeds and will enter Jannah . A lot from the earlier generation and a lot from the later generation. 


The people of the left - Those who did evil deeds and will enter hellfire. 


The forerunners - Those who were the foremust to do good deeds. Not your average Joe. High and above everyone . Surpassing all.

In the Hadith of the 3 men trapped in the cave, the 3 men decided to mention a good deed they did for Allah's sake so that Allah can free them from the cave. What were the 3 go

The first man : 

He brought the milk and stood by his parents  heads while they were sleeping , for he hated to disrupt their sleep or to serve his child before both of them. His children was crying at my feet, yet hs continued standing over them until the approach of dawn.


The second man : 

Had a cousin whom he dearly loved more than anything and he wanted to engage in a Haram act with her without being married to her and she needed some money so they agreed but while in they were almost in the act she told " O slave  of Allah, fear Allah and do not break the seal without right to do so!" so he stood and left. 


The third man :

He had a worker that worked for him for a portion of rice. The man came and asked for his payment but when he have him he refused. The employer then continue planting his share until he ammased cows and flocks. When the man came back he told him he can have everything. 


All of these men did these cars purely for Allah's sake so the rock was removed and they were free .

How were the Muslims betrayed by the Jewish tribe Banu Quraydha whom they had a peace treat with during the Battle of the Trench? And what were their punishment as a result?

Banu Quraydha had a peace treaty with the Muslims that they were not supposed to betray the Muslims and we're to help them when the Non Muslims attacked the Muslims. During the Battle of the trench, all the Arabian tribes gathered against the Muslims and Banu Quraydha initially planned to support the Muslims but in the middle betrayed the Muslims and joined the ranks of the Non Muslims to attack the Muslims.


As a result of their treason,the Prophet ﷺ asked for an arbitrator that was chosen by Banu Quraydha and the Aws (who were Muslims who had treaties with them before Islam) to decide what must be done. Saad ibn Muadh رضي الله عنه  decided that because of their treason all the men of the Jewish tribe of Banu Quraydha were killed and the women and children were taken as slaves. The Prophet ﷺ said to Saad that he decided what Allah had also decided.

What is the 3 step expiation for a person who nullifies their fast without a valid reason ? 

1. Must free a Muslim slave.

2. If they are unable to do that, must fast 60 days consecutively. If they break a day in the middle, they just start again. 

3. If they are unable to fast 60 days consecutively, then they must feed 60 poor persons. One per each day for 60 days.
