However, the Cascade Range is not as long as the mountain chain that forms North America's backbone, as the Cascades are only about 700 miles long. What is this mountain chain called???

The Rocky Mountains!

Goldfish, the "snack that smiles back"

This delicate winter sport requires good balance and thick ice! It is an Olympic sport also, and the different kinds of this sport are very artistic and technical, though regular folks do it all the time too. What is it?

Ice Skating!

This prominent mountain peak is actually a semi-active volcano, with its last eruption in the mid-1800s. This popular winter sport requires quite a few canines and a good sled, as well as a very snowy climate. The Iditarod long-distance race in Alaska each year draws people from all over the world to compete and to spectate. In fact, if it had not been for the non-human members of a team in this sport, the city of Nome, Alaska would have had a very hard time getting the medicine they needed to heal from the terrible diptheria disease outbreak of 1925 (see the animate film Balto for more information lol). Which sport is this?

Dog sledding!

During this, you may be asked to wear pajamas, to participate in silly themed contests, and to try to piece together an outfit that comes from a certain era. All of this in the name of showing pride in your school in a visual way. When a bunch of people participate, it's pretty cool! What is this thing that we do at Stephenson and a lot of schools do?
