Which students have an IEP and which students have a PSP?
Students qualifying for special education have an IEP with testing accommodations. English as a second language have a PSP and qualify for testing accommodations.

Where and when is it considered acceptable to scan or score student responses?
Never. You cannot read student responses in their entirety (you may briefly scan-no more than 2 words in unision) but you cannot score any answers, including rough drafts or scrap paper. This includes if you are alone with the test materials in a double locked room.

What do I do if students write in their test booklet?
For the most part it doesn't matter. . .unless students answer in their test booklet, rather than their response booklet. Proctors should notice this during their monitoring process. They should instruct the student to continue answering in the response booklet. Then they should inform the BAC who will securely transfer their answers into the response booklet later.

Describe what proctors should be doing during test administration?
Continously moving and monitoring student work by walking up and down aisles. Teachers cannot be on cell phones, grading papers, etc while proctoring. This mainly relates to those who are proctoring make up exams, etc.

List a reason for voiding a test booklet.
Incorrect label information Soiled or damaged Original needs to be replaced. Only the BAC should void a test material booklet. Must be voided with a black permanant marker.

What can be left on the classroom walls?
Periodic tables and motivational type posters. All other items must be removed from ALL grade levels, special areas, etc.

What do you do if a student works ahead in a section not yet administered?
Stop the student immediately and take note of how many questions he or she completed. Notify the BAC immediately. Complete the steps to fill out an allegation form. When other students begin that section of the test, the student must pick up where they left off. They can NOT go back and work on previously completed questions.

What is the most common allegation against those providing "reader" accommodations?
Not reading everything to the student. This includes: directions, prompts, passages, stories, captions, words in pictures, graphs, etc. If you fail to read any of this it is considered an allegation!! You may re-read anything if the student directly requests.

When is the appropriate time for a student to make up the testing section they missed due to an appointment?
Never. A student cannot make up a section they missed due to an appointment. A doctor/dentist/therapy appointment, etc is not deemed an acceptable excuse to miss a portion of the test. If a student leaves during a section of the test for ANY reason other than sudden illness, that section cannot be made up.

The role of the scribe is to:
"record the student's work." Scribes do not correct grammar, run on sentences, or organization of students thoughts, ideas, etc. They should not conference with the student or provide instruction.

Give an example of an acceptable comment to make to a student during testing and an unacceptable comment.
Do your best. Stay on task. (General directions) You can do better than that. Write more. (evaluative or assistant instruction/commands.)

At what two times is a student's extended time considered over?
If they are not working. The bell rings for the end of the school day.

The Kentucky Department of Education. The parent or individual must go down to Frankfort to make a request.

Define what paraphrasing is and is not. Provide examples.
Repeating and rephrasing directions and prompts. Breaking directions into smaller segments or using similar phrases or words. Does NOT include defining words or phrases or telling a student the order in which to complete the task. Stories and reading passages canNOT be paraphrased. Example: Compare and contrast the versions of the three little pigs. Tell me how they are alike and different. Billy's mom says he's in a pickle now. What does she mean? She means he's in trouble.

Discuss the proper way to save student work that is done on the computer?
On a portable CD or flashdrive that can be destroyed. The CD or flashdrive must be given tot he BAC and is considered secure test materials. You cannot save it to a hard drive or network. You cannot transfer it to an electronic device (phone, i Pad, etc.)
