Written on 2009 by James Dashner, the story follows Thomas who wakes up trapped in a large field called the Glade that is surrounded by large walls without any memories of his past but his name. A group of teenagers who call themselves the “Gladers” explain how they too woke up without any memories and that every month, a "newbie" comes into the Glade without any memories. However, the next day, an unconscious girl arrives in the Glade with a note in her hand that says “Everything is going to change”.
