Spain, Don Juan Manuel, 1350s, El Conde Lucanor:
The story begins with Count Lucanor and Patronio. The two are talking about a servant and Count Lucanor wants Patronio's advice to know that he is going to be the servant. The servant is considering whether he should marry a woman who is rich but also very strong and brave. Patronio responds with an example of a similar situation, of what happened to a young man who married a very strong and brave woman. In the other village there was a very good young man but he was not rich, he wanted to marry a woman with a very tall statue. The only thing was that everyone did not want to marry her because she was very brave and strong, something that was not acceptable for a woman in society. The two got married and following that the man became very aggressive and the woman did everything the husband said. It was then that Patronio told the Lucanor that if the servant can control the woman if they can marry.
