If an instructor is absent, what must they do?
Notify HSA staff at the start of the semester and if urgent at least an hour before class and check in on missed materials
What should an instructor do if they suspect child abuse or neglect?
Report to the NY State Central Register as a mandated reporter
When are formal classroom observations conducted?
Throughout the semester
What must instructors document even if an action doesn’t warrant an Incident Report?
Concerns about student behavior via email and attendance sheet
What happens if a student arrives 15 minutes late to class?
Instructor acknowledges the reason but ensures they catch up without disrupting class
What should an instructor do if a student is caught using their phone in class?
Remind them of classroom expectations, document repeated offenses, and report if necessary.
How are student discipline issues officially documented?
Via the HSA Incident Reporting Form
What must instructors provide on attendance sheets besides presence?
Comments on student performance and behavior

Objectives, reflection questions, group discussion strategies, labeled file format
What must students submit before the next HSA semester begins?
High school transcript
What must be done if a student expresses mental health concerns?

They receive a notification letter before the start of the semester
