You receive a call from a patient who wants to schedule their MRI. We have the order, and patient states that they do have a pacemaker, however they don't have any of their pacemaker information. What is your next step as a scheduler?
*DO NOT SCHEDULE AN MRI WITHOUT DEVICE INFORMATION.
*Check PCI/check with patient if patient has ever had OUTPATIENT MRI preformed at HCA facility.
*Ask patient if they have their device card.
*Offer to transfer patient to Cardiologist/PCP for information.

Pediatric patients have little lungs so cases with anesthesia have to be approved by child life prior to scheduling to ensure that patient will be safe for their scan.
You receive a call from a patient to schedule a Nuclear Medicine Stress Test, at LSMC. Patient is 7'2" and weights 415LBS. Patient is requesting to be scheduled in your open appointment tomorrow. What is your next step as a scheduler? What does LSMC schedule their NM Stress based off of?
We cannot schedule a NM appointment next day without department approval. Patient will need to be scheduled for a 2 day stress test. LSMC schedules NM Stress Tests based on BMI>35. Patient BMI is 39.4
At CTMC what exam(s) specifically do you have to send a MGMT form in for?

*Check PCI to obtain patient medical implanted device information from previous MRI if available.
*Obtain information from patient if not.

-At RMC you cannot schedule with first having MRI Dept approval.

What is a Hoyer Lift?
Should this ring any bells for any facilities for an MRI?
A Hoyer lift is a device that can be used for patients who are completely wheelchair bound. The Hoyer Lift will assist patients from their wheelchair/bed to the exam table.
*YES!!! Both Wesley Woodlawn (E.) and Wesley Woodlawn OPI (E.O) required an additional Hoyer lift be scheduled to the MRI appointment, this is an additional 30 min apt.
What implanted device information do you need from a patient when scheduling their MRI with a Pacemaker?
*Manufacturer.
*Model #.
*Serial #.
*Cardiologist or Dr. who follows patient.
At Wesley, if a pediatric MRI is ordered with Anesthesia/Sedation. What is the first three questions that we have to ask?
*Does patient have any medical implanted devices?
*Has child ever had a previous sleep study?
*Has anyone noticed any pausing or stopping in child's breathing?
At Menorah Medical Center (MMC) what is the prep that a diabetic patient must preform for a NM Stress Test 1 Day?
