People were complaining that the script wasn’t “cultural” enough, raising the questions of “what is culture?” The tension peaked when there was a meeting in front of the gym with everyone in the PCN cast to address all the problems going on. Seeing that there was no compromise of anything, Matt Geluz and Eileen Soong agreed to rewrite the entire show two weeks before the show opened. AICA almost pulled funding.
