Name one foodborne illness and how you can prevent it

  • Separate: Keep raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs separate from other foods to prevent cross-contamination. Use separate cutting boards for raw and ready-to-eat foods.

  • Cook: Ensure food is cooked to the right temperature to kill harmful bacteria. Use a food thermometer to check internal temperatures.

  • Chill: Refrigerate perishable foods promptly, ideally within two hours, to slow the growth of bacteria.
