What is weathering?
Large cracks in the Earth's surface.

This "hot stuff" is found in the mantle layer of Earth, and becomes lava when it reaches the surface.
What is magma?
There's a whole lot of shakin' going on when a fault moves suddenly.

These particles are the largest pieces of rock, water moves easily through it.
What is sand?
There are 7 of these large landmasses on Earth.
What are continents?
This "hot head" releases magma, cinders, ash and gases.
What is a volcano?
This type of rock is formed when sediment builds up and presses on lower layers of sediment.
What is sedimentary rock?
The exact place in the Earth where an earthquake occurs.
What is focus?
The natural process of moving rocks and sediment.
What is erosion?
The Earth's surface is divided into these large areas (that don't fit in the dishwasher).
What are tectonic plates?
These are formed when animal tracks and/or imprints of plants are made in sediment.
What are fossils?
This type of rock is formed when magma or lava cools and hardens?
What is igneous rock?
The place on the Earth's surface above the focus where an earthquake causes the most damage.
What is the epicenter?
The soil layer that has less humus and fewer living things.
What is the subsoil layer?
The outer most layer of Earth (or what some kids want cut off of their sandwiches).
What is the crust?
The layer in the center of the Earth (and it's not Hell).
What is the inner core?
This type of rock is formed by heat and pressure (also, a cool name for a superhero).
What is metamorphic?
"Surf's Up, Dude!" This large mass of moving water is caused by a strong earthquake under the ocean.
What is a tsunami?
The best for growing plants, this soil layer is a mixture of humus and sediment, plus worms, insects and other animals.
What is the topsoil layer?
The three ways tectonic plates move (and they rhyme, if said correctly).
