How do I request Ergonomic Assessment?
On the Inet click the OH&S tab, under Ergonomics and then scroll to "Ergonomic Assessment Request Form".
Where are incident reporting forms found?
They can be found on the Inet under the Occupational Health & Safety tab.
What are some non-physical means that could constitute bullying & harassment?
Race, ancestry, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or religion, and other protected grounds.
How much time on average does being a member involve?
Generally about an hour per month.
Does Eastlink Community television have any Job Safety Analysis protocol's (JSA)?
Yes there are several JSA's on the Inet JSAs covering a variety of tasks at Eastlink, some specific to Television!
What should be posted next to or below the first aid kit?
A list of all first aid attendants.
Can I report an incident with a difficult/threatening member of the public?
Yes, there is a Customer Incident Reporting form under the OH&S tab of the Inet, under Incident Reporting. This typically used by retail, but can be utilized for this purpose.
Is it considered harassment if my leader (direct report) asks me what the status of a project is?
No, when done respectfully and in good faith, steps taken by a leader to manage their employees' workload is not considered harassment.
Do Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee members get any training?
Yes they get both committee safety training as well all members get First Aid training.
Do contractors doing any type of Eastlink work need to be vetted before they start work?
Yes, using an outside provider called Safe-Contractor (Cognibox). Managers can find a link for contractors to apply is on the OH&S page of the Inet.
Can you name two (2) things that you'd expect to find on a safety board?

Is there a process to return to work after an injury or illness?
YES! eastlink has a RTW Program to help people safely return to work after injury or illness; it involves input from a health care practitioner, the employee, their leader and the OH&S and/or HR department.
Are there specific violence prevention plans for each workplace?
Yes, plans to prevent violence and harassment in each workplace will be shared with all employees.
What does it mean to meet Quorum at a JOHSC meeting?
It means that no less than 50% of the members are present, and that no more than 50% are management representatives.
Do I require any training to operate a scissor lift?
Yes, both a fall protection certification, generally received in-house, as well as training on the operation of the equipment from the supplier of the equipment are required.
Do all lunchroom garbage bins need to have a lid?
All bins where food waste is deposited must have a lid. Recycling bins do not need one.
If I'm injured at work, who completes the Worker's Compensation forms?
Generally if capable the employee completes their own report of injury (the Form 6) or may have assistance from their manager. The employer's portion will be submitted by OH&S (Form 7).
Does Eastlink report incidents of violence and harassment in the workplace?
Yes, a report of occurrences of violence and harassment is provided to the Federal government annually. No information regarding the identity of persons involved is shared.
