Before removing a student to a special education setting, the team must ensure that the student can not be educated in general education with accommodations in the general education setting.

This disability condition is a specific condition that results from a deficit in the cognitive ability of phonological awareness. The achievement deficit presents as difficulty reading real words in isolation, reading non-words, reading fluency (both accuracy and efficiency), and spelling (must be more than spelling to be identified).

It depends.... more evaluation should be completed.  Normed assessment and achievement standard scores should be consistent within the confidence interval range.

Is a child that has a diagnosis of schizophrenia also Emotionally Disturbed and Socially Maladjusted?

Individuals who are identified as Schizophrenic are Emotionally Disturbed.  Individuals who are Emotionally Disturbed can or can not be Socially Maladjusted.

No - when speech and language and impairment is the only service and SLI is the only disability condition, then speech and language therapy is an instructional service.

School psychologists recommend educational needs that a student should receive in their IEP.  They can assist in the development of the goals, services, and accommodations.
