Discuss how the ending of the novel conveys the failure of the Russian Revolution.

The novel ends with the animals realizing that although they overthrew the humans, their lives have not improved. Under Napoleon’s rule, they are worse off than before. This reflects how, after the Russian Revolution, the workers and peasants saw little improvement in their lives, and many suffered under Stalin's rule, despite the promise of a better, equal society.
