Kaylen writes the BIP. Kaylen and Lainy can give - ADHD, autism, executive functioning, dyslexia, anxiety, and depression.

Yes Daniela and the campus principal can reasssign perm. or temp.

How long should interventions take place?

 6 weeks BUT if parent referral or there is a suspicion of disability, you should not take 6 weeks of data before you begin.

How often and how many binders/files will a para come to FPA 2 to work on?

Weekly (likely Fridays)

If a student fails the vision/hearing screening, WIDA, or has poor attendance, are they disqualified for services

The factors can be part of the decision and should be addressed but not the primary reason a student is found eligible.

What do you do if a student does not qualify for services?

Hold an IEP meeting with the entire team to explain why they dont qualify and complete the refusal to take action form. A copy must be given to parents.

How many hours can a partime para work and what is the protocol to go over.

Who makes the decision when to move from interventions to testing?

When a student exits school or returns to regular placement, what do you do with the student's binder?

Notify Michelle and gen. ed. teacher of the exiting student right away by email, and bring the physical file to Michelle's office.

What do you do if a student comes with an IEP from another state?

Follow the new referral process right away. Begin providing comparative services right away.

What does the casemanager update in Embrace following an annual review/re-eval?

Service minutes, classification, time code, accommodations, and new or removed services. Should be done before the IEP is finalized and given to parents.

Can a para be the SPED teachers sub.

Full time paras yes but it must be approved by Daniela and campus principal. Part time paras can not be left alone with students.

Who sends the initial email after consent is given, and who does it go to?

Michelle, casemanager, gen ed teacher, Kayla/Jessica or Shannon, Suzanne /Derek, Kaylynn/Lainy, LEA, campus secretary

Who creates a new IEP student's binder/file? 

Michelle, the casemanager, is required to bring all documents to Michelle with all signatures and totally complete with all needed paperwork.

Who is responsible for getting a student's WIDA reports, who do you get them from, and when should they be asked for? 

Casemanager from the ELL coordinator at your campus. By the middle of September or when a student qualifies.

What is the attendance protocols for paras?

Notify teacher and campus principal ahead of time when possible. If unplanned email as soon as you know you will be absent.

If full time para you will also need to email Kelly Woodard.

What are the steps in the referral process?

Parent / Teacher reports concern -2 Interventions begin up to 6 weeks -3 at 6 wks. team holds a review of existing data meeting to decide - 4 consent obtained, testing begins (45 days begins) -5 IEP meeting is held regardless of qualification.

What documents go in a student's binder/file?

Three years of IEP's, WIDA score, diagnosis, scram, a record of access, parent contact, progress reports, amendments, testing, initial placement, eligibility, referral, RTI, transition, age of majority,notice of meeting, consent, ESY, BIP

If a parent misses an IEP meeting, what is the next step?

Secretary reschedules the appointment, a notice of meeting is given, must take place within 5 days. A parent must be officially invited to 2 formally scheduled meetings before the IEP can be held without them.

Paras can provide one on one support, push in services, tutoring in SPED room, behavior support

Paras can not write IEP's, do testing, meet alone with parents,sign any documents (except incident reports)
