- Der er 195 lande i verden
- Tæller man Taiwan med, er der 196. Mange lande anerkender ikke Taiwan som en selvstændig nation. Kina ser Taiwan som en udbryderrepublik og ikke et land, og hvis man etablerer diplomatiske relationer med Taiwan vil man derfor komme i konflikt med Kina. Danmark anerkender Kina og ikke Taiwan.
- 193 lande er medlem af UN (FN – Forenede Nationer).
- De andre to er Palestina og Vatikanet. Man kan diskutere, om det er rigtige lande, da de hverken ejer deres land eller har en rigtig regering. Men det er nu en gang FNs definition.
