What were 2 differences of Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. DuBois?
Washington spent the first nine years in slavery in contrast to Dubois who never knew the life of slavery. This might have been the reason that Washington took a more accommodating position. He believed that if black people worked hard and succeeded, the world would accept them as equals. On the other hand, Dubois believed that in order to effect social change, black people needed to fight for it through political action and protest. Furthermore, Washington's approach to education was more practical while Dubois believed everyone should receive a more classical education and reach as far as they could in education.
