How Frederick Douglass is set apart from society.
What is Douglass’ drive to accomplish anything he wanted. On multiple occasions, Douglass did not let anything stop him from achieving his goals. One of Douglass’ first goals was to get an education. After being denied of an education by Mrs. Auld, Douglass was able to learn how to read by bribing other children to teach him. Another time Douglass was able to overcome barriers in the way of his goals was his escape from the horrors of slavery. Freedom was the main goal in Douglass’ life, and he was not going to let anything, like slavery, get in the way of achieving it. His drive to overcome all the barriers in his life sets him apart from the rest of society.
