We would still have the terrible taxes and still be under British rule. Plus we would drink tea and talk with a British accent.(If I had a British accent, I would never shut up!)

I think since Independence Day is celebrated on July 4, they would think it was rung on that day to celebrate declaring their independence. It was actually rung on July 8 when the Declaration was publicly addressed.

1.Since people never signed the document, some people think July 4 is not the "official" Independence Day. 2.Technicly since we signed it on August 2, we celebrate "Independence Day" when we didn't even have independence in 1776.
