These items are not recommended to wear while working in the operating room but exception is made for watch and wedding ring

Name and Date of Birth are 2 examples of this and is used to verify the correct patient prior to any intervention
What are patient identifiers?
Foreign object in a tray that cannot be identified examples include: hair, bone, cement, pencil, tray lock etc.
What is a contaminant?
This equipment must be checked daily, including weekends/holidays when working in the department
What is the crash carts?
This is the minimum amount of space required for clearance in the hallways

The circulator asks about these items pre-operatively and if left on the patient increases their risk of suffering a burn.
What are piercings/jewelry/metal?
The time the surface must stay wet when using the purple top wipes.

The amount of time the surface must stay wet when cleaning with Oxycide
