The butler's dream was that there was a vine with three branches and that they brought forth good fruit. He took the food and made a drink and served it to Pharaoh. This dream meant that in three days he would return to work for Pharaoh as a butler. The baker's dream was that he was carrying three baskets of but birds attacked him and the bread. This meant that in three days Pharaoh would kill the baker.

He did! Joseph realized that him being sold into Egypt allowed his family to survive, since he was able to interpret Pharaoh's dream, collect food, and eventually help out his family (and get them to live with him in Egypt).
