This lead has the article present a surprising statement in the attempt to shock the reader before the read it in its entirety.
Startling Fact
News that is considered as a joke and is not to be taken seriously.
Satire
This type of news is often called "feel good," news and is usually associated with news that is not important, but is interesting to read or hear about.
Soft or Feature News
The process of ruining someone's reputation on purpose by spreading false information intended to harm them.
