These can never be stored in a clinical space or left on the ground, as they may harbor bugs.
What are corrugated cardboard boxes?
Using PDI Purple Sani Cloth wipes or Clorox. First clean: wipe the outside, dry thoroughly. Then Disinfect: using a NEW FRESH WIPE by wiping 3x horizontally and 3x vertically. Allow to remain wet for entire contact time, dry thoroughly after contact time.
What is the glucometer 2 step cleaning process?
Notify the provider when tests/ diagnostic procedures fall significantly outside the normal range within the 15 minute time frame.
What is reporting critical results?
Patient fridge, medication fridge, blanket warmers.
What requires temperature log checks?
Should be checked and cleaned weekly and documented on a log, caps must remain closed when not in use.
What is the eyewash station?
These need to be segregated and properly stored in a labeled rack (full or empty).
What are oxygen tanks?
Non permeable gown, gloves, proper don/doff procedure.
What is PPE for contact isolation?
Before and after contact with patients, wearing gloves, eating or after any contact with blood and bodily fluids. After using the bathroom, sneezing, or coughing.
What is hand hygiene?
Should be closed, NEVER propped open.
What are fire doors?
Commonly found in storage bins, on computers/keyboards, shelves, under equipment.
What is dust?
Keep communication concise and positive.

Stored in clean utility until used, then sprayed and left in soiled utility for pickup.
What is the protocol for red SPD procedure bins?
Important to ensure all medications and/or solutions are identifiable.
What is labeling all medications?
Can be found anywhere on the unit, especially in infrequently used bins.
What are expired items?
Nothing should be stored here for access to sprinklers.
