Compare and contrast the mood of Ruth 1 with the mood of Ruth 4. How does the mood change? What causes these changes?

The mood of Ruth 1 is hopelessness and sadness because Naomi lost her husband and 2 sons, and Ruth and Orpah lost their husbands. However, God uses the people in Naomi's life to redeem her situation. At the end of Ruth 4, the mood is joyful and hopeful as Boaz and Ruth have a son, and Naomi is taken care of.

How does the concept/role of a kinsman redeemer foreshadow the story of Jesus?

A kinsman redeemer had to be a male relative who was willing and able to fully redeem his relative who was in need. Jesus became human and was willing to fully pay the debt of our sin so that we could have eternal redemption.
