Who releases information regarding a Bomb Threat?
(Remember)
Do not release information about the bomb threat to the public. The Office of Communications Marketing & Media department will release authorized statements to journalists and the public in consultation with state/local officials with jurisdiction.
What is the role of Unarmed Officers?
Unarmed Officers will respond in the direction of the event but will not enter the location of the event unless instructed by the Supervisor.
What should security do when reports of a large gathering on Medical Center Property? There are 4 steps
1. Evaluate the environment and identify a leader (Is someone present that the group seems to be following/accepting direction from?).
2.Attempt to establish contact with identified leadership and determine their purpose
3.Provide information that the unauthorized assembly is not permitted on Medical Center property and request they move from property.
4.Maintain a non-confrontational, neutral demeanor avoiding any display of opposition or support for the protest purpose.
What is HUGS purpose?
The HUGS system is designed to prevent infant abduction.
*The HUGS system uses tamper-proof tags worn by infants.
What should the incident report for lockdown include?
A Security incident report will be completed for each lockdown activation. This report will include a general assessment of operational effectiveness and noted deficiencies.
If a suspicious package is found, what are your steps?
Leave the package in place.
Remove people from the immediate location and prohibit access to the area.
Evacuate the adjacent areas immediately. Use fire evacuation routes (horizontal if possible) – refer to FDS Section V-8
Open Windows if possible
What is the role of the Armed Officers?
Armed Security personnel will respond to the event in attempt to locate and neutralize the ongoing threat. Actions of armed personnel will be guided by their level of training and situational discretion in conjunction with other armed responders.
What should Personnel should be mindful of about their actions and the actions of staff?
They might be overtly or covertly videoed or recorded.
*Personnel should avoid confrontational behavior or actions that might be misrepresented or easily manipulated and cause undue criticism of the Medical Center.
What do the doors do if the infant is close proximity to the exit points?
Doors in these units will automatically lock
Who is responsible for cleaning the defibrillator?
The Code Blue Team / Nursing staff is responsible for cleaning and restocking the defibrillator before transferring it back to Security personnel.
What are your searching heights?
Floor to Waist, Waist to Chin, Chin to Ceiling, and False Ceiling. *Avoid moving items if possible.
Response to the event can be guided by what phrase?
“Loco Is Eva”. The phrase prioritizes actions to “Locate, Contain, Isolate, and Evacuate” the event.
Security personnel will not provide statements regarding the protest and will defer all media inquiries to whom?
Communications Media and Marketing.
There are 6 types of alarms, name at least 4.

Where are the defibrillators located?
ECC, 5 Cancer Center Code 44 room, and Ground Sticht Center Code 44 room
What things should you look for regarding a suspicious package. List at least 6
No return address, the return address is different from the location where mailed (post marked), or mailed from an unusual or unknown location. Incorrect spelling, address is poorly typed; address has an incorrect title or uses only your title and no name.
restrictive markings such as “Confidential” or “Personal”. Excessive postage. an unusual odor.
oily stains on the package, or protruding wires, string, or tin foil. unusual size, shape, weight, or balance of weight in the package. The envelope
or package is rigid or the contents are lopsided or uneven.excessive string or tape to secure the package.
Once a hostage incident has been confirmed, proper notifications are critical. Who should be notified if the Supervisor or Senior Officer is not available?
WSPD, Director of Security, Security Manager, and Admin On-Call (AOC)

What should security do about people not related to the problem group, who may want to loiter in the area.
Security Personnel should encourage movement of persons who may want to loiter in the area.
* Establishing alternate ingress/egress routes for tenants/staff on a temporary basis should be considered.
Which Unit has the HUGS System and where is the unit located?
NICU
11 Ardmore East, North Tower, and Reynolds.
The entire 11th floor of all three buildings.
How many levels are there for ED Lockdown?
*500* point Bonus for explanation of each level.
The levels dictate security's response to different levels
There are 3 Levels.
Lv1. Incident within 1/4 mile of Hospital-Full Response to include vehicle staged.
Lv2. Incident in Forsyth Co.- All Officers except not vehicle staged
Lv3. Incident "outside of Forsyth Co.- Screening and Officer at ED entrance near Discharge Area.
*Supervisor may alter based on information from Law Enforcement

Panic control is vital. Prevent panic by doing what 2 things?
1. Providing assurance. Be positive and decisive. Reassure others by giving concise information and instructions calmly.
2. Eliminating unrest. Dispel rumors. Notify your supervisor of any person who is releasing information about the bomb threat without authorization.
May an officer act as a negotiator if they make initial contact?
Yes,
For purposes of this protocol, any initial contact person can act as a negotiator until the ranking person at the scene changes their assignment. (Ultimately this task will be assumed by Law Enforcement personnel)
In the event of a large demonstration or gathering it may be necessary to establish what?
A Command Post.
*An operational command post may be designated on site to be supported by the Incident Command Center as activated.
What two types of alarms will require Emergency Response of all Security personnel?
Exit and Tamper Alarms. These alarms will be a CODE PINK response.
*Other alarms will receive priority response.
