This postsecondary pathway makes it is possible to join the reserves (part-time) and attend college while you are serving.
What is the "military"?

What is "Historically Black Colleges and Universities"?
This is the part of the SMARTIE framework represented by the letter M. It includes a way to agree on whether the goal has been met (by numbers or defined qualities).
What is "Measurable"?
KALC Juniors will take this test on April 14, 2026.
What is the "ACT"?
This is an institution that offers two-year associate degrees and certificates, often focusing on career training or providing a path to a four-year university.
What is a "Community College"?
The application platform for over 900 partner schools. It allows you to apply to multiple schools at once.
What is the "Common Application"?
These institutions are funded by local and state governments and usually offer lower tuition rates, especially for students who are residents of the state where a college is located.
What is a "Public college"?
This is the part of the SMARTIE framework represented by the letter T. It includes a clear deadline.
What is "Time-Bound"?
This is a test comprised of two sections: math and reading & writing.
What is the "SAT"?
This program is a structured, hands-on learning program that prepares students for specific careers. They combine classroom instruction + practical training to prepare students for certifications, licenses, or direct entry into the workforce.
What is a "Career and Technical Education program"?
This is an application type that reviews applications as they come in with no firm deadline.
What is "Rolling Admission"?
This institution is focused on providing a broad education across various disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and the arts, to foster critical thinking and well-rounded individuals rather than a highly specialized career path.
What is a "Liberal Arts College"?
This is the part of the SMARTIE framework represented by the letter S. It reflects an important dimension of what you seek to accomplish across college, career, and beyond. In other words, it describes a well thought out outcome.

This is the part of the SMARTIE framework represented by the letter A. It represents the goal being challenging enough that accomplishment of that goal would mean significant progress; a "stretch" to achieve".

What are "1-36 and 400-1600"?
This is the only residential two-year college in Massachusetts (You can live there and get an associate's degree!).
What is "Messina College"?
This application platform allows students to apply to multiple colleges within a system (for example UC application, SUNY Application, Apply Texas).
What is the "Unified College Application"?
This degree typically takes 2-4 years to complete. It is very specialized and prepares students for a specialized pathway like a medical doctor or lawyer.
What is a "Professional Degree"?
These are the parts of the SMARTIE framework represented by the letters I and E. They apply a lens of critical consciousness to decide what you need to happen to navigate relevant systems to achieve the goal. It also includes an element of fairness or justice that seeks to address systemic injustice, inequity, or oppression to achieve personal, collective, or systemic liberation.
What are "Inclusive and Equitable"?
This is why ACT/SAT scores matter for college admissions (phrasing may vary).
