What is the setting of this story?

Mary and I were sitting on the beach watching the sun rise above the clouds. Were talking about our life growing up in Cincinnati and how it felt like a hundred years ago. Then Mary quickly took off down the beach and ran right into the ocean and splashed through the waves. I chased after her and dove through the cold water. That is when I heard her shout, “Joe! I need help, something is wrong with my foot. It really hurts” I swam over to her to see what was wrong. “Can you move it?” I asked her. “No I think it is caught on something,” she said. I dove down and looked at her leg. It was caught in some seaweed. I came back to catch my breath. I told her to be still and I dove back down to try to pull her free. It couldn’t get the seaweed off her leg. That is when I remembered the scissors in my car. I swam back to shore and ran to my car. I grabbed my scissors and raced back to Mary. I took a deep breath and cut the seaweed off her leg. We swam back to shore and removed the rest of the tangled mess from her ankle and watched the rest of the sunrise.

What is the main problem AND how was it solved?

Joe went to see his best friend in play in downtown Cincinnati. While not a big role he knew Matt was excited about being dancing spoon number 3 in Beauty and the Beast. The show was great and Joe was pretty sure he knew which spoon was actually Matt. Joe me him after the show and Matt was stoked to see his buddy come support him. Matt told him that they had to get dinner and he knew a great place right around the corner they had to try. “I don’t know Matt, I don’t usually go downtown and think we might get lost,” Joe said. “No way! I know these streets like the back of my hand! Hey, when did that get there? Matt exclaimed as he spotted a weird mark in his hand he had never seen before. The two went off in search of this new restaurant. Down one street and around a corner then down another street. Matt started to look progressively more and more worried. “ I could have sworn it was on 5th street.” Matt said. “Hey buddy we are on Elm Street,” Joe said.  Matt did not believe Joe that we were in fact on Elm so the two had to find a street sign to prove it. Matt told him that if we just walk down a little further they should find their way. The two were lost downtown and had no idea where to go. The sky kept getting darker and darker as night time approached. When they saw the Bengals stadium they knew they were in trouble and nowhere near the restaurant or theater they were supposed to be in. Then that is when the two friends realized they were not only lost, but Matt was still in his spoon costume. Determined to survive the night they walked into the first shop they could find and called Joe’s dad to come and get them. They had to ask the owner where they were. Finally Joe’s dad picked them up and the two were on there way home.

Joe and Matt were lost downtown. They solved the problem by calling Joe's dad.
